Is it a good deal?
Paste a link to any gaming PC from Best Buy, Walmart, Newegg or any other store, and the price you see. We read its specs, compare the price with the PCs we track that have the same graphics card, estimate its FPS, and show two or three better-value options.
How the check works
- The specs come from our own catalog when we track that PC (every Best Buy gaming desktop), else from the one page you pasted, which we read once and never follow links from, else from the product title many stores put in the link itself, else from the title or specs you paste.
- Great deal: at least 5% under the typical price of the PCs in stock today with the same graphics card and CPU class, or at the lowest of them, and no PC with the same or better graphics card and CPU at least 10% cheaper.
- OK price: close to that typical price, and nothing the same or better is much cheaper.
- Skip it: a PC with the same or better graphics card and CPU (and as much memory) is in stock for at least 15% or $150 less, whichever is smaller (the first line says how much less, and that PC is the first option we show); or more than 3 in 4 of those PCs cost less; or its CPU holds back its graphics card.
- Not enough data to call it: fewer than 5 PCs with the same graphics card and CPU class are in stock today, so we don't say what's typical. The typical price leaves out listings whose title names another graphics card and prices far outside the rest (beyond 1.5 times the middle half's spread).
- Better options: the same performance for less (a graphics card at least as fast, a CPU that keeps up, a lower price), more performance for about the same price (within 10%), and the best value at your budget.

For a Best Buy PC we track, you also get our full rating: how it ranks by value among every PC with its graphics card (a good deal is in the top quarter, a great one in the top tenth), whether the same or better parts cost less today, and its own price history. FPS numbers come from Justin's own benchmarks, measured or estimated. Prices change daily, so check again before you buy. About our data.
